Impostor!

The logic behind the game is quite simple: in a spaceship, groups of 4 to 10 players are formed.

Among them, one is an imposter and it is up to everyone to try to find out who the infiltrator is.

The selection is completely random, so you only discover your role when the game starts.

If on the one hand the secret to being successful in the game and finding out who the impostor is is to work as a team, on the other hand you have to work hard to get along if you happen to be chosen to be the enemy.

These tips will help you to go unnoticed and confuse your “friends” so that they eliminate each other and you can triumph sovereign in the end.

Think quickly: if you had to deceive your friends, would you do something different from the conventional or try to act normally as if nothing wrong was happening?

If you chose the second option, congratulations. This is the best way to become a successful impostor.

First of all, you need to be observant – just like others will be. Some tasks proposed to the imposter are false, such as passing the administrator card on the central machine. Even if you have to do this, it will not return any results.

So make sure that no one will look.

As an impostor you must not act completely independently. Remember the valid advice to be a good teammate: always act in a group and not be isolated. Here, you will do the same thing, but in a more discreet way, avoiding being easily perceived.

In addition to fake tasks, as an Impostor you basically have two skills: sabotage or kill. In the first case, this option activates a temporary problem in some part of the ship. Your “friends” can try to solve the problem immediately or ignore it completely, keep an eye on the strategy that most will adopt.

If you are alone, then it will be easier to put into practice the actions of killing. You can corner unprepared companions, kill them and, after a while, report the problem. Pay attention to the room settings defined by the administrator. There is usually a 10 second cooldown, but this time can be extended up to one minute.

Now that you know how things work if you’re playing as a “bad guy”, it’s time to pay attention to some tips to get along and minimize the chances of being discovered by teammates.

Decisions about who will leave the ship are made at emergency meetings. No matter how hard you try to appear normal, it is at that moment that you must test all your persuasive power. If someone accuses you, act naturally and try to list problems related to other players. Say that the system has been sabotaged or that you suspect someone.

Most rooms have a ventilation system, a kind of trap door on the floor. If you are an imposter, then you can use these structures as a kind of shortcut to get from one room to another. However, other players are unable to do so. So if someone sees you using this trick, you can be sure that you will be caught. Use it sparingly.

Don’t let your teammates be “groups” to vote without you being present. If two or three come together, you can certainly eliminate it with ease. However, if you join them, you can eliminate many others before your turn comes. The secret is to take the initiative and behave like a leader. Point out enemies or agree with other people’s suggestions – as long as they don’t indicate you, of course.

Even if you follow these tips, you will not always be successful. In some moments, it will be necessary to count on the luck factor to get out of dangerous situations. Most of the time you will not be the imposter, which makes it a little more difficult to practice this type of role. However, believe me: it is extremely fun to be in that position.

The most important tip you should consider is to act naturally. Always give the impression of being a teammate and don’t try to start a hunt for a culprit, as they will eventually reach you. Be helpful, do your chores and don’t let anyone find out who you really are.
